To add to the myriads of queer events happening in world, Tidbinbilla Deep Space Communication Complex, canberra,Australia yesterday(28 Aug 09) sent 25880 goodwill messages to the nearest earth like planet 'Gliese 581d'. Though the messages were collected from over 190 countries, maximum were from Australia. Well that was very unfathomable gesture of aussies as they seem to be more friendly to the unknowns 20.3 light years away than the Indian students among them.
These messages are to reach there in 20 years. and if it will take the same time for replies to return to earth (provided aliens understand english), most of the senders will not be able to see the replies. What i am fearing is if, because of language problem, they mistake messages for abuses instead of goodwill, to hamara kya hoga?
India was not much behind in this interplanetary goodwill act as it left sixth largest number of messages for the planet. Messages were collected at hellofromearth.net.

Its been a long time since i last scribbled the blog and that may be attributed to the combination of some serious screwing in project and the hyderabad visit. Visit is not yet over as this time i am in train on my way back to delhi and typing with the 10 key alpha numeric keypad. It is not very exciting but the compartment is dull deprived of any girl. I do feel same for the city with malls being exceptions.
This visit worked as a boon for me as it gave me respite from hot delhi weather with the rainy weather of hyderabad. Almost all the days here were claudy and perfect for city outing. Main spots i visited are Salarjung Museum and Birla temple.
I also visited Anuj at hi tech city and we did outing in malls. Despite the challenging geographic conditions, development in the area is really been impressive and is in huge contrast with UP Bihar which are larded with resources. The city has got many indian and MNCs and is a major IT hub.
Along with the city the views of landscapes in the way to Hyderabad are also attractive. Green vallies deep under the train, Tiny hills and dark caves through them, wild animals make you look outside through window.
3 hours since its departure from Hyderabad train now is entering Rampgundam and i can see the fume coming out of the chimney of the famous NTPC power plant here. Now i will look out for some other time pass.
This story is from an email i recieved from one of my frnds. As i was about to forward it, i thought putting it on blog will open it up to more readers. This story tells us how to handle too many thing in our life.
--------------
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, If the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls. He then asked The students again If the jar was full.. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'
The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectivelyFilling the Empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,'I want you to recognize that This jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -- The small stuff.
'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls....The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So...
Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.Play With your children.Take time to get medical checkups.Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time To clean the house and fix the disposal.
'Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.'I'm glad you asked'.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend.'
wow! what a scene. india competing with ireland for the last place among 8. congrats to dhoni for continung his form. actually complete team india deserves the pat.
though it was not astonishing to see india bat like that but bowling and fielding was even worse than that 2 days before. in all, dhoni and co deserved this defeat.
this time bad batting, bowling and fielding was combined with some funny changes in the side. though comeback of RP was expected but not in the place of bast performer of last match(irfan 2-0-9-1) thereby losing one batsman also, and that was fulfilled by bringing in rookie ravindra jadeja, who later scripted the defeat of india. i'm sure these funny replacements were brought by out of form/mind dhoni.
it was disappointing to see misfields from the likes of yuvraj, raina, rohit and dhoni. unfortunately zaheer was also out of colour, and ishant, well i dont expect anything from ishant who should hv been at the bench today.
well! one last game and good thing is that india will not be under any pressure.
So the first quality clash for india in this tournament and the lamb of inside has started peeping out of our indian lions.
After the sluggish start in batting, which is a thnx to india's young guns and even better contribution to aggrevate that by the captain, when (with the help of yuvraaj and yusuf) india reached 153, it ws looking quite defendable for india but as dhoni was in great form of keeping and captainship also, he alongwith his fielders did not let it happen. surely bravo should have returned the man of the match trophy to dhoni for his allround show.
i'll put chennai captain as the villain of the match for his uncountable faults:
- his great batting is going greater and graeter with match dar match. even the figures (11 off 23) doesn't comfortably tell his misery at wicket. no no no, it was not his out of form performance, it actually was in accordance with his tedhi medhi batting technique.
- during west indian innings he was superb again behind the stumps with one missed catch and a run out chance.
- only good thing with him was his tectical abilities to handle the game and that also is leaving his company. i dont know listening to which of his dirty mind thinking he didn't allowed irfaan( 2-0-9-1) and zaheer to complete their overs and overused harbhajan and ojha. who the hell told him to bring harbhajan in for 17th over.
Where bowling was pathetic through all the 20 overs, fielding was on the way to establish a milestone, with ishant being the biggest contributer in both. till the end no bowler succeeded in bowling a single yorker delivery.
Only good for india, i can see from this match is a hopefull entry of RP in place of ishant. Well, all i can say now is best of luck for next two games (i dont think they will play further).
